Meet the Railroad Artist

Chris Nelson began his career as an upstart railroad artist at the early age of twelve. During college, Chris continued to develop his painting techniques and quickly became a recognized railroad artist. In 2006, Chris decided to pursue his true passion for railroad art and began painting trains and railroad related subjects full time.

In addition to studying at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Chris has mentored under some very well established artists. His love of trains and railroads is evident in his artwork; however, he also enjoys painting vintage WWII airplanes, classic automobiles and landscapes. Chris's artwork has earned numerous awards and most recently been reproduced as limited edition railroad prints for The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum.

Chris currently resides in Southeastern, PA with his wife and children. His boys share his love of trains.

Message from Chris

"The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad was known for providing outstanding quality and service throughout its operation. From its exceptional passenger service, innovative equipment, and unprecedented freight programs, the B&O railroad always aspired to bring the best product to the marketplace. I hope you find my paintings do the same."
