Background
Chris Nelson began
his career as an upstart railroad artist at
the early age of twelve. During college, Chris
continued to develop his painting techniques and
quickly became a recognized railroad artist. In 2006,
Chris
decided
to pursue his true passion for railroad art and began painting
trains and
railroad related subjects full time.
Exposure
In addition
to studying at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Chris has
mentored under some very well established artists. His love of
trains and railroads is evident in his artwork; however, he also enjoys
painting
vintage WWII airplanes, classic automobiles and landscapes. Chris's
artwork
has earned numerous awards and most recently been reproduced as limited
edition railroad prints for The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad
Museum.
Residency
Chris currently resides in Southeastern, PA with his wife and children.
His boys share his love of trains.
